Painted wood cladding must be repeatedly scraped, sanded and repainted over the years. And when traditional siding isn’t maintained, it must be replaced and dumped into a landfill where paint and contaminants can enter the groundwater. New trees must be harvested or other energy consuming materials must be used to replace products that have failed.
NuCedar cladding products are designed to last for generations; they save trees and minimize the environmental hazards of painting. All NuCedar products are factory-finished with a solar relective coating from Sherwin-Williams® which reduces heat trasference from the sun's rays and, as a result, keeps the walls of the home significantly coller. Energy savings range from 5-9% dependent on location and wall insulation - even when using darker colors (1) Over the building’s entire life, this not only adds up to significant savings for the owner, but significantly reduced impact on the environment.
NuCedar is manufactured and coated to last for generations. All scrap materials generated during manufacture are recycled. And because the products are coated in a highly controlled and filtered environment using low VOC materials, potentially damaging emissions are limited and carefully controlled to meet strict Environment Protection Agency standards.
